Anita Anderson is an accomplished Singer, Producer, and Vocal Coach at AJ Music Studios, specializing in Contemporary Music. With a diverse background that spans Pop, Rock, Country, Jazz, and Musical Theatre, Anita’s training blends both classical and contemporary techniques, making her an adaptable artist and educator.

Anita’s musical journey began early at the Music Arts Institute in Independence, Missouri, where she first developed her musical foundation in vocal performance. During this time, she also won Grand Prize in the Reflections Songwriting Competition for her original song entitled "A Dream of Tomorrow’ - an early milestone that deepened her passion for songwriting.

In High School, Anita was selected for the Missouri All-State Choir for two consecutive years and was a member of the Kansas City Youth Symphony Chorus under the direction of Professor Simon Carrington of The King’s Singers. She also performed the lead female roles in Guys & Dolls and The Music Man, showcasing her versatility both as a singer and performer.

Anita studied Voice at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, and pursued Music Production and Sound Engineering at The Academy of Production and Recording Arts in Calgary, Alberta. After completing her training, Anita opened AJ Music Studios, a full-service music studio providing vocal training, recording sessions, and music production for over 15 years.

​​​In her vocal studio, Anita blends her extensive experience in both performance and music production. She teaches Contemporary Music; including Pop, Rock, Country, Jazz, and R&B. Her studio incorporates advanced recording technologies that help students customize their songs by adjusting keys and tempos to suit their individual vocal needs. Additionally, she creates high-quality recordings of her students’ finished songs, which they can use to promote themselves and share online.

Anita’s lessons are designed to help students of all levels refine their vocal technique, build confidence, and explore new musical styles in a supportive environment. Anita’s passionate about helping her students unlock their full vocal potential.
